About ART at Arch Street Meeting House

Art at Arch Street Meeting House is an exhibition program that invites regional, national, and international artists and community organizations to display 2D artwork on three walls of the Reception Room of Arch Street Meeting House (ASMH). Artwork can be mounted on the hanging art rail or displayed on the gallery shelf.

The program is committed to presenting a wide range of ideas and artistic explorations to showcase the important role the arts play in our communities.

Eligibility

Local artists, nonprofits, art programs, and cultural organizations are invited to submit proposals. Artists outside of the Philadelphia region may be invited to submit applications if their work addresses a particularly relevant topic.

Collaborations between organizations and other partners, such as with local schools, are welcome, but one organization needs to lead the application process.

Artists do not have to live in Philadelphia, but the inclusion of artists from the region is strongly encouraged. Artists can be self-taught or professionally trained.

An affiliation with a Quaker organization is not required; voices that represent a depth and diversity outside of Quakerism are strongly encouraged to apply. Both individual artists and groups can submit proposals.

Exhibition Dates

The selected artwork(s) are required to run the entire length of ASMH's exhibition period. An exhibition cannot be extended or shortened unless approved by the Public Programs Committee of Arch Street Meeting House Preservation Trust.
