Logo

The Arch Street Meeting House logo captures the significance of Quaker history yet interprets it with modern context.

By featuring minimal linework that suggests the facade of the time-honored Meeting House, we build in a nod to the historic building itself. However, rather than a more classic, literal illustration of the architecture, we use typography in an unconventional way to populate the space between roofline and foundation. The juxtaposition of historic and modern continues inside the typography, as we pair the more traditional serif font with the updated feel of a sans serif font and its clean, geometric purity. These inherent visual implications allow our mark to signal the richness of history without antiquated complexity. Our mark provides an invitation to experience Quaker history in a fresh, meaningful way that has immediate relevance today.

Grayscale Logo

Full Color Logo

The primary logo is the preferred usage for all appearances of the logo on white or on top of images with a light background. For other backgrounds, use the alternative white version.

The grayscale version should be used when full color production is not a viable option. If the logo must appear on a dark grayscale background, use the white logo.

White Logo

Black Logo

The white versions should be used when the background color is dark, or when it is placed over a dark image.

This version should be used when a grayscale treatment is not an option, and for maximum logo visibility on a white background.

Font

Typography plays a critical role in conveying personality, tone, and quality. Careful attention to typographic details works to distinguish the brand by achieving harmony throughout all Arch Street Meeting House communications.

We use an intentional combination of the more traditional serif, Harriet Text, and the more sleek, modern sans serif, Volte. Both provide the austerity of clean legibility. However, they have emerged from two different eras, just as past meets present within our historic site today.
